Eligibility: To qualify as a startup, the entity must be incorporated as a Private Limited Company, LLP, or Registered Partnership Firm. The turnover should not exceed Rs. 100 crore in any of the previous five financial years. The entity should be working towards innovation, development, or improvement of products, processes, or services.

Documents Required: Certificate of Incorporation, brief description of the business, product or service details, website link (if available), and a recommendation letter from an Incubator (if applicable). Startups recognized by DPIIT are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80-IAC.

Application Process: Register on the Startup India portal (startupindia.gov.in), fill in the application form with entity details, upload required documents, and obtain the DPIIT recognition number. The recognition is valid for 10 years from the date of incorporation.
